A Getting Just To Get More Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

A Getting Just To Get More

A getting just to get more,
Sooner or later bores those who stop...
Making attempts to get more to hoard.
And running out of space to store what bores.

Everyone is teased to believe they need and should have,
What other people possess they too should get...
To discover that the doing makes them sad.
And not glad with a happiness they wished they had.

A getting just to get more,
Sooner or later bores those who stop...
Making attempts to get more to hoard.
And running out of space to store what bores.

To wish many do for a happiness to reminisce,
While stepping over things,
They rushed to get but boredom brings...
To regret a doing of it was not intended like this to happen.
