A Glimmer Of Fall Poem by John A. Hancock

A Glimmer Of Fall

Autumn's beauty bides its time
Ne'er a worry nor a care
Summer can linger but won't delay
The rustic colours
Laden branches soon will bare

The rising sun irrelevant till noon
Spot lights damp leaves bedazzling in watery beads
Dawn's cool kiss reminding us
How chilly the comimg days will be

Walnut husks litter city sidewalks
Acorns complicate a simple stroll
Scents of fall o'er powering purge
Thoughts of summer many refusing to let go

By lamp of day or moon lit night
Inspires September a muse's soul
Like April with spring around the corner
Infuses passion icy winter puts on hold
