A Great Mother Poem by Randy McClave

A Great Mother

She was a terrible wife for sure
Upon any land or upon any shore,
She did what a wife should never do
Being a good wife she never had the first clue.
She seemingly was never given a soul
She drank and smoked and cheated and stole,
Infidelity she greedily enforced
That is why she is now divorced.

She was a horrible girlfriend indeed
Lies and broken promises she would breed,
She couldn't be believed or ever trusted
When some were pure, she always lusted.
Every man that she had she treated like dirt
With the movement of her skirt,
And of course in her situation someone else was always blamed
She always accepted pity, but she never felt ashamed.

I would never ever want her as my wife
I couldn't handle the dishonesty and mistrust and strife,
And never would I want her as a girlfriend
Into the pits of hell I do not want to descend.
Unto her these last words I will say
She was an awful partner in every context and in every way,
But, one thing I will say in honesty above all other
She was a awful girlfriend and wife, but she was a great mother.
