A Hellish Time Poem by Bidisha Sharaf

A Hellish Time

Rating: 5.0

Seeing the bars
My heart was trembling.
The man beside him knew us.
His ugly laughing face reminded me of every grave mistakes that I committed.
That ugly short man handcuffed in flowers
Scared me. I was out of the blue.
Seeing the bars
My heart was trembling.
I wanted to run away from the evil.
The evil did not lie in me, it was my decision.
Those urges were of no use that I wrote for people.
Now it is a new one, the language is new.
Seeing the bars
My heart was trembling
My hands were shivering
I penned through everything or something.
He was there, he was there too.
I forgot what to say and what not.
He told me to write, he said that too.
I looked down, down towards my feet,
Hiding my eyes to confront his ashamed eyes, his ashamed eyes too.
The world went upside down.
Seeing the bars
My heart was trembling
And I could hardly breathe.
