Is There Anyone? Poem by Bidisha Sharaf

Is There Anyone?

Rating: 5.0

There be a bottle of wine

Beside me; a glass of the same in my hand.

I am looking outside of the window

Some dogs are still playing on that sand mountain!

It is a serene feeling.

There is a woman standing on that roof

She is another wanderer like me.

What a thirsty feeling it is!

I do not know if this place to call to be mine or not?

I have poured another peg, it is my companion,

Too difficult to find a blood and fleshed ones.

Whom should I talk to?

Is there anyone?

One half rooted tree is looking at me

Or is it sympathizing for my uprooted heart?

I cannot forget those things

But I am unable to remember everything also.

Will I ever recall these memories?

Or they are going to be removed soon.

Oh, I need another peg certainly.
