A Hungry Dishwasher At Five Star Poem by Abiee Josy

A Hungry Dishwasher At Five Star

Did you see the dirty man washing the expensive dinner plates?
He has a daughter at home waiting for bread rolls
But still he s washing... Wiping the ice cream bowls
cheating himself that his baby might have slept.

They say every saga has a happy ending.
But everytime I find him pending in his story's starting.
The grief, the pain and the blood he sowed
has never came up as a beautiful flower as he hoped
Though he works in a basket of food
but he realises he s hungry by the moon
in the back of the hotel; the temperature of Sahara
he works like the hell
to keep him starving
and always he too finds him pending....

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

I could not figure out the reason why we, people living in this south Asian region, are having this crooked idea of working means something inferior. We have to work to feed our family and that work is the President of USA or the Cleaner who is mentioned in this poem! !
