A Kiwi Eskimo: In Cold Flat Igloo Poem by Terence Craddock

A Kiwi Eskimo: In Cold Flat Igloo

in my early twenties
I used no heat inside
when I lived alone

just dressed for outside
woolen hat jacket gloves
multiple layers ugg boots

fun watching warm air cold
whisper in freezing lounge
from mouth while happy sitting

slept with a woolen balaclava
on sometimes in a twenty below
mountain hooded sleeping bag

good practise for hiking
in rough native bush camping
outside in winter cold

I was perfectly acclimatized
before leaving a cold flat
hiked exposed with an edge
