A Letter To A Friend Poem by DEEPAK KUMAR PATTANAYAK

A Letter To A Friend

Rating: 5.0

They think it not friendly and peaceful
While upon differences and dissent with others
Seemingly look a part of life and decent and valuable
Indeed like a dish to relish with many flavors
If not there would be no ideas creative and original
By parity of agreement on everything fair and unfair
People often worship many God and devils
When you disagree unlike me, the contrasting I explore
And see the world rosy and in perspective are many castles
Of thoughts pouring in to address all conflicts and rivalry
In the grand scheme of life, there exists nothing that is unchangeable
Barring the law of God which is eternal and shall stand for ever
Given the liberation to disagree honestly
Amid the discordant strife of egos will yield harmonies undreamed-of
and rare
It's good to be assertive but better still
To be as calm and cool and respectful disposed to ideas of others
As a man should be with sincere desire to retrieve the situation from eventual downfall
Flexibility and openness is what is needed at this hour
While making explicit the vital aspects of relation that can't be
made a deal
And if desirable to completely back down from one's stand once it's realized how minor
And trivial the issue is in the context of the relation overall
When views are exchanged contrary in an animated atmosphere
Disagree with the idea and make it not personal
For it may become bitterly resentful and openly hostile and sour
Let me put by a saying that goes in size small
As "Grace in conflict is a study in love" looks wiser
So disagree without being disagreeable
For the more evolved you are, the less you will agree or disagree with others
And the more you will explore gently
You will receive gratefully only what you need with the fullness of what others offer

A beautifully crafted piece written from the heart. The last 5 lines of this piece are indeed very moving. I hope the conflict whatever it is will be resolved in the most beautiful way. Stupendous write.10
