A Lick Of Paint Poem by Paul Warren

A Lick Of Paint

A lick of paint to hide this thing
That is ugly in what it will bring
Bright colours that are cheery
Or beige or cream somewhat dreary
But the new surface will be smooth
And better coloured once you choose
And hide the ugliness of the older one
Now the colouring has been done.

'A lick of paint to hide..... the ugliness'. We all resort to such things in life to hide whatever ugliness we feel uncomfortable with. Thanks.
