A Life Story Poem by Eve Young

A Life Story

I find refuge in the night
When everyone's sound asleep
It's the only time of the day
When I could hear my heart beat.

I get to think of things
And of people that I love
I get to think of the past
And of the faults I have had.

I used to be the best
I used to do what's good
I put my faith to rest
Lived life as I understood.

But all I took were wrong turns
Reached a lot of road ends
Tried to block my own path
Vague were my amends.

I lost trust
I lost love and glances
I lost hope
Left were blurred chances.

I ask myself now
Why is my life a mess?
I knew the answer somehow
I never really did what's best.

Wow! This piece crafts in it a powerful message the resonates well with our lives, especially that time of the night that you are alone and you need to think on the many things that you have done wrong while less that you have done well. Thank you for sharing Eve.
