A Lion's Head Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

A Lion's Head

Rating: 3.5

At heart you were deer
liked by all and to be addressed as dear
preferred nice words to hear
without any stab to fear

Lions do not roar
still there is uproar
he has wild land to rule
In nice king's role

Who has not seen their elegant style?
they move freely in their kingdom for a while
they rule over thousands of miles
yet it is habitat to live for meanwhile

A lion does not share
he never looks around and stare
still everyone praises his role as fair
there is charm and thickness in air

No one tries to look so elegant
it comes automatically or instant
people may know by actions or words
As there are blessings from the lords

It is nice to dream a reality
noble and standard is the quality
it drives powerfully among herds
the beautiful music will be made by birds

it is fantasy but not stupidity to remain near nature
that accords permanent refuge for future
we sail against winds and reach the shore
still remain ordinary and ask no more

I shall remain as earthly as possible
though with strong mind but body as feeble
Still I shall look upon as victorious man
As I have acted only human

We may try to project or live under that name
all fearless qualities we try to claim
we are not at all worthy of all qualities
we fake the originality and live under same identity

It is good to be called lion hearted person
he or she may have all the valid reasons
it is glorifying one of the bravest creature
it is their life style to live with nature

You can never pretend to be human with lion's head
it will no where allow you to lead
the lion will not succumb to the domination
human beings surrender with little hesitation

You may with beautiful dreams
as it is not reality as sun beam
how long can you stand under the hot sun?
you may try to find safe refuge and run

We have many ways to reflect the views
we ask for open opinion and constantly review
it is still a big question as what is contrary?
it is ruled out of question and stands as unnecessary

It is good to be looked as brave
You may not be lucky to have close shave
some day it will pose direct threat
it will depend how you respond or treat

Very interesting, intriguing, fascinating contemplation defining 'a lion's head.' Why do you say that lions do NOT roar, seeing it is a well-known characteristic? Your depiction of the beast is fascinating, and the transference to it being a feature of man's behaviour is intriguing, concluding that bravery is the bottom line, ...generally associated with lions, which God says '...turneth not away for any...' Fascinating.
