You may call me mad or worse.
But I believe the bee was made for me
Honeycombs and pollination
Busy working just for me
Thank you for the apple that fills my luscious pie
Thanks too for the sunflower smiling just for me
How important that you bear a sting
A point well made for guarding treasure
Don't forget to visit each flower
Don't be lazy that's not your way
Next spring and summer I will judge you
For the work you do today
In the blooms around the well
I see your good work from before
Yes I know about evolution
But could it be there's a little bit more?
You are Wonderfully mad Edmund. Light, uplifting and delightful poem. My father loved flowers and as children always told us to never kill bees because without them we would have no flowers. Yes I agree there is always a little bit more. I love how how you write on so many varied topics, you see beauty in the most simple ordinary thing and at the sametime you are not afraid to speak out what others only dare to whisper. My kind of poet.
Your poems is very uplifting! I love this Ode to the bee and faith. The final two lines were especially great. Very well done Edmund. You're painting with your pen.

There's always a little bit more we might have done, we might have known. Nature has so much to teach us....people will remember and judge us for the work we do today. Beautiful imagery. A bee going from flower to flower like a queen, relishing its share, enjoying what it was created to do....there's hope yet when we look around.
