A Little More Poem by Jeff Rubin

A Little More

Rating: 5.0

when someone asks how I am
I know it’s out of politeness
most people would answer, “fine”
out of boredom and triteness

but I reveal my true state of mind
which may cause awkward social distress
for when I reply to “how I am”
this is what I express:

I am:
A little more jaded
a little more frustrated
a little more giving up hope
a little more at the end of my rope

a little more lost at each bend of the road
a little more despairing as each empty day enfolds
I can't seem to find the light at the tunnel's end
can't even remember when - the tunnel began to descend -

INTO HELL.....

don't know what the future will hold in store
but I do know, I just can't take -
even A LITTLE MORE! ! ! !

(The cure for the illness of a mislead society drowning in the sea of a false hope, diabolically manufactured by self-help gurus; syrupy, trite, inspirational speechmakers; and brain-washed 'positive' thinking pop psychologists) :
