A Long Night Poem by Frank Adie

A Long Night

It was a long night
Where nothing seemed right
NEPA took light
And worsened my plight

I ached for sleep like never before
I tossed and turned until I became sore
A night without sleep could be quite long
And could get you wondering what went wrong

Sleep is commonplace to them that have it in abundance
Hence they never take out time to consider its substance
It is only when sleep begins to depreciate
That we ever care to appreciate
