A Lost Soul Poem by Pragya Deb Burman

A Lost Soul

The sun rises once again,
But for me- a new morn is all in vain;
Grim shadows cast in the night,
Seem to lead me to the light.

Wretched and alone till the day I die-
All because my life was a lie;
You gave me all your love, faith and hope...
Maybe t'was too much for me to cope.

Now, light has begun to blind me
For my eyes don't wish to see;
Mind spiralling like the Milky Way,
Do I want to live another day?

Senseless guilt, despair and fear,
Many a night, have I shed a tear!
But how do I set this trapped soul free-
When nobody can help... but perhaps just me?
