A Lull In The Dark Poem by Edwina Reizer

A Lull In The Dark

When the day is over
and night time comes upon her,
all that happened within that day
will be forgotten after.

And through the night when all is quiet
there comes a lull in the dark.
With eyelids closed we lie abed
and imitate the skylark.

We soar in flight without a care.
This imitation occurs in dreams
and were soon in unseen places
meeting others in different scenes.

When the night is over
and the day returns again,
we forget the lull and its peacefulness.
To it we say Amen
