A Manuscript Poem by Jayatissa K. Liyanage

A Manuscript

Rating: 5.0

Over five decades ago
I, as a school boy
created you, and brought to life
Never ever since then
you were near me
except in daydreams

You had not left me alone, though
followed me through, all the way
to wherever I had been to
I see you too are aged materially
deformed, worn off and discolored
and facing disintegration

Alas! That cannot be allowed
lest my grand kids lose you
Let me resurrect and enliven you today
to be reborn with a new look
for kids of today and tomorrow
