A Marriage Ends Poem by Ray Hansell

The marriage is over
It's time for us to leave
I know tears will be shed
We'll both need time to grieve

I know that in leaving
So much is left is undone
But the time we shared together
I know I was the lucky one

I know that we had plenty
Of life's ups and downs
But somehow through it all
We both stayed around

But now the time has come
To go our separate ways
No more need for talking
As, there's nothing left to say

It hurts me more than you know
To know how much I hurt you
All the tears that were shed
Were because of what we both really knew
