A Matter Of Balance Poem by Doris Cornago

A Matter Of Balance

This man always keeps running off
Says he does not understand
The task at all, makes me
Fume and blow my top
This type of people
I'd rather do
Without
But
As
Days
Went by
Realized that
Youth has different
Stakes and different
Tastes, they take jobs as
Lesser of a concern than
Making their lives whole, going
In pursuit of balance, doing this and
That, no job is going to hold them back

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Young men are always on the go, multitasking at many jobs and roles, trying on what's fit them best. Hardly will you ever find anyone at the same job for over two years unless it's his own business. Being the owner of your business is now the norm and competition is stiffer than ever, and so are stresses of the job. For once, most youth are on their own, living apart from their families and going into deep depression. In trying to outrun time, they outrun themselves. For people who are always connected to the Internet, there's a sad disconnect to warm humanity.
