A Memory Poem by Donald R Wolff JR

A Memory

Hello memory
Where did you come from
Maybe a story
In a book I don't belong

It was written when I don't remember
Yet it is still there within my mind
A time when a part of Heaven
Was written to be mine

We all have our granted blessings
Mine was a life I made with you
Therein, the words were lovingly written
For a light that shined so true

So why am I no longer in the story
Written by the great divine
Why did our story end
Before I had a chance to read my lines

So many pages were left empty
Like a feeling deep inside
Every time this endless story
Brings visions to my mind

Hearts break every moment
Too many tears will never dry
The feelings of forever
Will be wasted throughout time

Why must the sadness be in a story
That ends without a pleasing line
Why must my heart be forever broken
By the trust I gave to mine

There is sweetness in a memory
Where my heart shall never find
So stay there in the darkness
And be kind
