A Memory. Poem by SY Wong ...

A Memory.

Somewhere in March
As I watch television
By chance, I couldn't believe my eyes
It was not a documentary that I am used to
Something is wrong
Something strange is happening
Something, something I have never seen before
Caught on television, live!
The sea was furious
Gone mad, went back and forth
Things were floating up and swept, like ingredients in a soup
Soup!

The tsunami 11th march 2011
Like never before.

I blame the weather!
The weather blames me!

A memory came back to me!

On this day;

I can still hear voices of panic
Sounds of despair

I didn't understand.

"What the hell is going on? " I asked.
There was no news that day
Just this, the tsunami.

A phenomena?

It happens to happen.
It just happen.

Who, what to blame?
The righteous?
The wicked?

If, in terms of dollars
_ tons of them, surfacing
the sea.

What is life
and its meaning!
Life has no meaning.

What I have enjoyed is mine!
Notes float away!
There were cars, buildings, expensive and trivial things
All together.

Did you get it? End.
