A New Hope Poem by Benjamin Chiu Uy

A New Hope

A New Hope

In a written letter
with carefully scribble
scented envelopes,
the girl said yes.
And the world was
in love again,

In a trash can
of dirty garbage,
a small cat was meowing
for adoption like a beggar
Wrapped the scrawny creature

In a raised alarm
A scavenger claimed this tiny creature,
And the world was
a better place again,

In a racy current,
a man saves a drowning boy
risking his own death,
And he is an epitome of a truehero,

The call of humanity
prompts this philantrophists
to donate all his money
for cancer charity,

One man dared to traverse
to condem a dictator
for his impunity,

The reverberations of truths,
and ushers a downfall
a newhopefor democracy,

The world begins again
like a call to arms,
a call to greatness,

Festons a newleaf
For a newrejuvenations,
a new face for old mankind.
