A Nose Ring Of Faith Poem by Doris Cornago

A Nose Ring Of Faith

Who was it who faltered in step
Who gave away the chance
Who missed the rehearsal
Not I, been there
Faithfully
My heart on
A string, wearing
A nose ring, eager to know
A new step, with bated breath
Telling myself, today I'll learn mastery

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
We are all set to work but our eagerness is not met with the same amount of eagerness. We soon learn that our work beat is set on a different rhythm from our partner who is a night-owl while we wake up to work with the sun. What happens then? Well, the one who leads is the one who has anything to teach and so, the pupil must learn to adjust to the maestro. How long do you think such a relationship could last?

Loyalty is earned. If we do not deserve it, we will soon lose it.
