A Pencil And Paper Poem by Ray Hansell

A pencil and a piece of paper
Writing down thoughts in my mind
If I work at it diligently
The right words I'll hopefully find

But if I rush too much
The words can get lost
Then as a result of this
I will pay the cost

The words may not rhyme
Or mean what they should
Then I'm not able to say
All the things I could

So I always take my time
When I sit down to write
Knowing that is the way
To sit and do it right

It's all about integrity
With the written
Always write what you mean
So your words can be heard
