A Piano And Me - Poem by Cristian Dolon
There was a time I was filled with love...
But now my heart's doors have closed shut.
Once I felt like the greatest God or a king...
But now all of a sudden it doesn't mean anything.
Now here I sit before you again...
Trying to forget as I press your keys with my hands.
It just seems that nothing matters anymore...
Staying with you makes me feel better than before.
And even though you do not speak...
You so soothe me with the press of a key.
Pressing, pushing, softly touching...
Yes, here we are, just my piano and me.
I feel as if I have no life...
But you make everything seem alright.
If you were to be a human being...
I wonder if your voice would be just as soothing.
Although I'm the reason for your sounds...
You're the one that shouts my inner emotions out loud.
Here we are with nothing else to do...
You're here with me and I'm here with you.
As I listen to you I do know...
You feel me by playing the right sound in your own tone.
We both combine to bring the best in great memories...
My piano and me.
