A Place Called Loneliness Poem by CHARMAINE SIMPSON

A Place Called Loneliness

Rating: 4.3

I thought family was forever
I believed it to be true
A relationship that never dies
A bond that has so much strength
It is impossible to break.

I thought it meant support and loyalty
Not only when in life things are all good
But also during times of struggle.
I sadly found out this was not so
Nothing is forever or unconditional.

My world crumbled -
Doors closed-
Darkness surrounded me-
This was the day I found a place called loneliness.

This work is very impressive. It is a shame that things that are so right and safe and lovely can change for the worse. You have given us a perfect picture of lonliness. I rate it a 10... Thanks Richard
