A Placid Moment Poem by Walterrean Salley

A Placid Moment

Rating: 5.0

Immersing myself in a quiet time,
I lay still for a moment.
My thoughts far removed
From the order of the day,
Tuning out every ordinary thing
Heard or felt.

And replacing them
With nothingness,
I allowed quietness
To secure my surrounding,
Peacefulness to arise within,
And calmness to control.

As good thoughts flowed,
A smile etched my face,
Donning my visage.
How placid.
How peaceful.
How divine.
