A poem with all figures of speech
-Gayathri B. Seetharam
Your Dictionary on the internet has a comprehensive definition
With examples of all figures of speech
While I make merry with my musings
But I confess, I confide, I conclude
That to me if these are the most productive of times,
These are also the most unproductive of times,
For if my work is plentiful, my earnings are scarce,
And I would like to think that my name has some fame
And if I am to be admired for my work ethics,
I am not to be much envied for my aesthetic success
It is a consolation that I have amassed an equivalent of
A fortune in engineering, art and literature,
However, I look to be the epitome of success
All my prospective career enhancement persons
Are slave drivers, I am wont to feel,
But the truth of the matter is
I would feel, Boom, kaput otherwise,
Abracadabra, I believe in the magic of soul,
I have been tasted the sorrow of joyousness
And although the fruits of my labour have been sweet,
It has been like a hell of a ride on the merry-go-round
Of PMs, Professors and CEOs, I know little
And hence, I say that I may be going through
A bit of an arid patch.
