A Poor Man Poem by Randy McClave

A Poor Man

A rich man never pities the poor
Because they never live next door,
They don't see them caddying anymore
Never do they see them at the same store.

The poor are never at the parties that the rich attend
They don't know one as a family member or a friend,
Poor people they quite easily want to offend
Especially at the restaurants where dirty dishes the poor tend.

The rich see the poor out begging for food
And also being evicted and then being sued,
They are nasty people and the poor are so very lewd
The poor are worthless the rich will conclude.

The rich hire the poor to dig them their ditch
Or have them to help them to decide which automobile is which,
Or mock them when for a ride they hitch
But, of course that is the rich.

The rich don't know the poor as their Neighbors
They see them only as cravers,
Never are they seen as life savers
They know them as manual workers doing the rich man's labors.

Give me a poor man over a rich man I will honestly say
For them I always do help and pray,
Because it is easier for me to be poor than to be rich in any way
I will trust the poor more than the rich on any day.
