A Poor Scholar's Evening Reading Poem by Luo Zhihai

A Poor Scholar's Evening Reading

穷书生夜读

星沉月落烛花瘦
窗冷枕寒玉漏迟
虽我贫穷难舍卷
任他尊贵不吟诗

A Poor Scholar's Evening Reading

Stars sink and moon falls
the candle flower is thin
Windows cold and pillows cold, too
Jade Water Clock Late in the Evening

Let him be noble
but he doesn't chant poems
Though I am poor
I cannot give up reading
