A Price To Pay Poem by Nyagaka Charles

A Price To Pay

Sometimes we look up to the sky,
But dense fog bars us from the upward alley,
Sometimes our hearths howl and cry,
But we lack the energy the tear to dry,
Cursing our lifes and wishing we'd die,
'Cause everytime we find reason to try,
The devil gets a chance to come by,
Only from our focus to make us shy!
Just then to failure do we fall prey.
If we could look at God's light only,
Maybe we wouldn't go astray!
Someday we'll look at our troubles from on high.
If we keep on the upward fly,
look at our dream, keep the pace and pray,
one day we'll reach the sky,
The land in which we are destined to stay,
Unfortunatly this bumpy ride's our only way,
And we got tickets to buy, a price to pay,
It takes a strong hearth not to sway,
A united people assander not to stay,
Till this sorrow and pain pass by,
One day,
All this will decay.

'we got tickets to buy, a price to pay' i really love that line. totally struck close to home. everything in life has a price even being born and dieing. kinda crazy but you summed it all into one little line. cheers!
