A Proud American Poem by Randy McClave

I am a proud American, until the day I die
Though many might ask me why,
They are many reasons why this I will say
Number one reason is how and to who I pray.
Our founding fathers made a great decision
When they wrote we all had freedom of religion,
To that very thought I am spiritual and proud
Until my God I always give my thanks out loud.

I am a proud American, I am surely indeed
Any book I can freely buy and read,
No man can tell me that I can or can't read books
Because of their ideas or their looks.
No matter whoever is the writer
Books motivate and create dreamers and a fighter,
Books incite the soul and wills
And books create thinkers and doers and ideals.

I am a proud American, because of rights
For all blacks, Asians, native Americans, Hispanics and whites,
No man is ever born better than me
As long as we both reside in this great country.
No matter if I'm rich or middle class or poor
We all are equal at liberty's door,
And no matter if the American is female or male
Our rights are the same the constitution does tell.

I am a proud American, I will always show
I will always show my pride wherever that I might go,
And I want everyone else to be proud as I am
Even or whenever they come here for asylum.
We are a country of different religions and races
We are a country of different beliefs and also faces,
And we are a country created for everyone
That is why I am a proud American.
