A Red Rose Poem by Heather Burns

A Red Rose

The red rose loveliest of
all
stands so erect and tall

To a vine she never clings
being blessed with everything

Starts to bud to unfold
haunting beauty never told

Ever so gracious standing there
none other can compare

She will steal your heart away
toss it to the wind someday

Touch her softly, fill her
need
a prickling thorn makes a
heart bleed
