A Relationship No More Poem by Randy McClave

A Relationship No More

I don't mean to be shy or even rude
But, I choose solitude,
I have been hurt by women in my past
And that pain does still last.
I have been used and cheated on
I have also been used like a pawn,
And I have been lied to and also tricked
Sadness and hurt on me they did inflict.
I finally have lost all of my faith and trust
No more to me is love a must,
And this fact I will honestly admit
I now don't think a relationship is worth it.
I will not let a woman again inside my heart
What I have left I'll save that part,
I can still use it when I pray
And when I give thanks to God every single day.
I will not work on another relation
Because, I have lost all reassurance and patience and salvation,
I guess there was no woman designed for me
So, my wants and feelings did flee.
I now enjoy my single life
I am contented and happy not to have a girlfriend or wife,
Now I am not used or hurt or taken advantage of
I don't need to give my soul to feel the joy and peace of love.
I will not ever be in a relationship anymore
And I will not be involved in any type of emotional war,
If you're a woman and more of me you want to understand and know
Don't, because I'll just let you go.
