A Relationship With God Poem by Randy McClave

A Relationship With God

With God you don't have a relationship
If on your shoulder you're carrying a chip,
And if in your heart you judge and hate
Then there is no relationship to affiliate.
Going to Church doesn't give you a liaison
Especially if you use Church like a pawn,
Neither does Bible knowledge or saying a prayer
That just makes you learned, and aware.
And if your walking down the Church's isle
Giving out candy with a nod and a smile,
Even if you give great tithes and a great donation
That doesn't give you a relation.
If you serve and you care for all others
And if you love all your sisters and brothers,
And you always do Jesus's teachings and accord
You still don't have a relationship with the Lord.
If you're drawing everyone a roadmap
You're routing them to a death trap,
To know Jesus salvation is the only token and cost
And if you are not saved, then you are lost.
If you are saved you have a relationship with God
Even though you might be damaged and a little flawed,
And if you're not saved and you're still lying and waitin'
Then you are lost, and you're only serving satan.
