A Sad Song



I wrote a sad song yesterday
A song not for the dead
Although the verses fades away
but the chorus rings loud in my head

I wrote a sad song to tell a story
The meaning i saw in my dream
Drawn from the deep ends of my quarry
The birds sing it on the way to the stream
