A Secret Kept - Poem by Charlene Hensel
Its hard to imagine the pain that is felt.
To imagine the heartache of what you've been dealt.
To see only sadness and disappointment from within
To see yourself with no goodness only sin
There is no light or joy to be found
Only darkness and loniness all around
To think of only death as a way
To fix the wrongs of yesterday.
The emptiness you feel is too much to take
A vision of nothing, your choice to make
You're tired of living the way that you feel
There is no help or no way you see to heal
Your family and friends are unaware
of the depth that is in your vacant stare.
Only when you take that final step,
They'll discover the awful secret kept,
The secret you kept from them all
The secret you kept of feeling so small
