A SHOWER OF BEAUTY

A shower of beauty is covering my thoughts
That is a bounty from Nature to me
That is a veil just half hidden from my eyes
It is a murmur coming from some distant lake
That makes me forgetful of the worldly cares
I feel myself lifted to a perfect innocence
Where the transactions of loss and gain are unknown
The quick and eager wishes are forgotten
And those wishes begin to seek some shelters
Like the birds of the tempest strong
And my thoughts are nested with peace and calm!
