A Simple Meal Poem by James Deschain

A Simple Meal

dark and night surrounding hold me near vast sky.
my heart pounds loudly, starlight on white flesh.
the huge emptiness, close as skin.

sun and heat abounding carress me rain drop.
my breath is ragged, salt sweat in black hair.
all the fires of Hell. engulfing sin.

great sheets of grey a dove hunting sky.
my senses alight, a world sudenly open.
blood? wine? flesh? bread? I start again.
