A Song About Today Poem by Navillus Tam

A Song About Today

Beggars live in broken homes
Teeny boppers on cell phones
Smack addicts all runnin' wild
Black high heels upon a child
Pregnant lady no money
Can you save my rich baby?
A song about today

Foreign land. No foreign food
Talking heads upon the tube
Boy, I hope that's a toy gun
Someone's dead. We having fun?
If you care, page twenty-eight
Grow a pair! Domesticate!
Just a song about today

A jungle lives in the city
A tumble echoes with pity
Traffic light and stop and go
I can't remember long ago
I turn my head and turn my cheek
Won't ever dare to take a peek
It's a song about today

Very well written and expressed. Nice flow to ponder on.
