A Soulmate Poem by Randy McClave

A Soulmate

I asked who my soulmate was
is it a person with whom you're in love,
Or is it the person with the same beliefs you share
Or the person with the same loving caring stare.
I wonder what a soulmate truly is
Could it be any person either a her or a his,
Is it someone with a strong affinity
To which you want to give your heart and your virginity.
Or is it the person with the same shared values and tastes
In which in them you see no wastes,
The person who you say makes you feel whole
Or the one with whom you believe you share the same goal.
A soul mate is simply this
it's not that person who you share a bed or a kiss,
But, it's that someone with whom you are very fond
And the someone with whom you share a romantic bond.
According to some legends and a belief
After Adam and Eve had shared a leaf,
Humans were then created with four arms, four legs and a head with two faces
Of all known races.
Then they were split into two separate parts
Each one having ever pounding loving hearts,
And then they were scattered both far and near
Created by love, and then separated by a tear.
Now they'll spend their lives in constant pursuit
Forever looking for their root,
Searching for their other half to which they share their fate
Looking then and maybe forever, for their true soulmate.
