A Spring Budding Poem by Bill Galvin

A Spring Budding

We grieved our loss when her leaves did go;
We bundled when Winter winds did blow;
But then on a warm Spring day one sees
The places from where she dropped her leaves,
And detect some new growth budding now,
On stems and branches, the once bare boughs.

The air smells sweeter,
The sun moves slower,
As daylight stays around a longer time;
The heart is lifted;
And spirits rise higher;
The forest tinted in ruddy hues sublime...

And holding promise of Summer greenery.
