A Stick In Throat Poem Poem by Terence George Craddock

A Stick In Throat Poem

what is the meaning purpose
of a stick in throat poem...
not all poems are written
with beauty some especially

early poems were written
to address unpleasant tragic
themes occasionally the cadence
was written to stick in the throat

because respect for the topic
demanded raw awkward
uncomfortable rhythms

to stick in the mind
the conscience pierce the heart
yet writing with beauty pleasure

is the affirmation of hope
for a better world
an affirmation of hope
for a better purer simpler world
