A Summer Closes Poem by Vision Ghost

A Summer Closes

Rating: 5.0

So many voices congeal into a single sized memory
Fathomed only in so many pieces of moments glory
Of when I laughed and when I shed so many tears
When time was lost and time seemed to shift gears

How so many witnesses saw so much in such detail
That my hands after a near year spent are so frail
I open my hands toward another segment unspoken
That time is conquered in passing no so very broken

I see in my mind faces that talk as they did back then
Under this sunlight as some so got none at all to pen
For new love that flourished to some hearts destroyed
But for finalities of which reasoning is thus deployed

Like seeds shall that lay dormant until next years call
When a germination of a new life seeks after the fall
Can’t always understand is said and what is meant
For the low ear that feeds to the soul before it’s sent

One is marred in such pain as another found them
Just next year and I can be; only not knowing when
Seems I am just as subject to someone else’s game
That I am as mortal and human burning in the flame

Of a heart that was broken to the hope now foreseen
That I can find myself again if you know what I mean?
And I can walk again on my feet with head held high
Recover from the hurt, the pain and what made me cry
