A Sunny Winter Day Poem by Marilyn Lott

A Sunny Winter Day

The day was cold but sunny too
For winter was in the midst
Folks wore warm and padded coats
As upon cheeks the chill had kissed.

Children happily sledding on hills
Their giggles made me smile
Moms and dads watched from nearby
They smiled too all the while.

Birds chirped from the nearby trees
Warmed from the midday sun
Life seemed simply perfect
As I watched little children having fun.

It won't be long now, however
When spring will come our way
But for now let's all enjoy
A lovely sunny winter day!
