A Teenage Distaste For Headline News Poem by Terence George Craddock

A Teenage Distaste For Headline News

this is life in media fast lanes
if you believe in love peace people
someone will always object;

if you promote peace the lovers
of war will hate peace messages
if you make a comparison between;

the Cuban Missile Crisis
and the escalation in the present
war in Russian invaded Ukraine;

the dangers to world peace this poses
you will offend someone get banned
somewhere ever noticed how media;

justifies certain wars and focuses
on disasters without enough coverage
of joyful events omitted deleted;

from prime time news coverage?
perhaps this is why contemporary
teenagers boycott the disaster news;

watch little or no TV disaster news
teenagers seek out fun podcasts reels
on TikTok Instagram boycott bad news;
