A Third Party Story Poem by Phil Soar

A Third Party Story

Rating: 3.5

I was a third party in a tale of intrigue
I was lost in their plan and was out of their league
When the story was written, I was not in the cast
But I turned up to play, and I had quite the blast

It twisted and turned as the plot got absurd
The script was unhelpful, I hadn't a word
So I played it as if I was there for the ride
The haunted house opened, but I wasn't inside

The characters acted, the cast played it well
As if there was never a story to tell
I would'nt fluff lines as I'd nothing to say
They just had to shoot me as I ran away

I appeared at the window, and tried to break in
I stood outside shaking, knocked over a bin
The director looked shocked, and shouted out "Cut"
Took me to one side and kicked me in the butt
