A Testament To Youth? Poem by Phil Soar

A Testament To Youth?

A testament to youth
All the pains in old age
Did I enjoy my younger days too much?
Is it a punishment?
I would like to think it's for a life well led
A testament to youth
And all the sport played
The fun had
The pain of failure
The joy of success
All heaped in between education
Which I hated
But has helped me through life
Lessons learned
Teaching patience and honesty
Although without the grades
But nevertheless not holding me back
In life
In Marriage
As a parent
As a pensioner
A testament to youth?
