when a thoughtful parent
picks up their child late
events may have hidden motives
accidents emergencies
mechanical failure
gridlock traffic inhospitable
are but obvious reasons
truth may have simple
delightful more pleasant causes
it may not as seems be
because responsible parents
are apparently tardy
it may be because
their child wants to play
on swings after class

Dear Terence, I do really not know how to parent best. I have read so many books on parenting. Perhaps it is best to follow our hearts but at the same time our reason. Or perhaps better still try to connect to the soul. Whatever it is, I do not want to condemn parents if they have apparently failed. Parenting is one of these things we just do. There are soo many factors affecting the outcome.
