A Very Long Life Poem by Dorsey Baker

A Very Long Life

Out of a toothless mouth
A feeble voice comes
The woman is trying to
Tell somebody
What she is suffering from

She is trying to
Explain the pain!

Her hand grabs a napkin
Closer than a hankerchief
Because the salty tears
They come fast!
The wrinkles
Upon her face
The sadness
Sunken deep in her eyes
They tell the story
It's the life of a woman
Who has lived a very long life!
